About the gameboard piece, as I play warmahordes, 28mm BP, 15mm in ancient to ww2, and a little modern 20mm I try to make my gameboards to fit all those periods/scales.

Edit: Sorry mike! I generally have a sketch or a picture as a general direction to my projects, but in the end it's always my brilliant/insane mind that prevails and it more often than not end up becoming something way more awesome than I first thought out. :)
I was once going to to a gauntlet for a LotR cave troll in greenstuff, it ended up like this:

How dare you sir, you can't possibly have too much Sharpe or Hornblower while you paint!!
and not to worry about the ship plans - it would only have gone onto the massive pile of 'pending' projects which i start and then put of finishing. :oops:
