ParticipantThe scenario is that two units are firing on one, the first unit has a clear line of fire, the second is behind the first for the most part but my opponent claims that the unit may fire as the command in the center is just to the side of the unit to their front. I don’t see this covered in the rules, my unit would be an unclear target at the very least. My opponent claims it’s not unclear due to the position of his command base.
Your thoughts please.

ParticipantWhen I put this article on the forum I didn’t realise the same question was asked 2 years ago under the title, unclear target. Having read the replies to that article I don’t think the diagram on page 47 covers the situation in question. I’ve added the same photo from the original article which shows almost 50% of the rear unit is behind the unit to their front, yes the command can see the target, but how can you shoot through your own troops. The diagram on page 47 is allowing a unit to shoot at a target further away due to the closer target being unclear. Surly the 6” gape rule comes into affect in this situation.
