Warlords of Erehwon: Ninja Warriors

no comments

The world of Erehwon is a dangerous place – spies and assassins lurk in every shadowy alleyway and on the roof of every building. The Daimyo’s Ninja are abroad!

Ninja

Striking from the shadows before fading away into blackness, these legendary figures has become a staple of popular culture from the early 19th century onwards. Our portrayal of these cold-blooded killers is a little tongue-in-cheek, with their black pyjamas and brandished blades!

Masters of unconventional warfare, the ninja rose to prominence during the Sengoku period. Their daimyo masters tasked them with assassination, sabotage and psychological warfare – dishonourable acts that the average samurai would refuse on principle.

History tells us of some truly incredible deeds – including an assassin who hid in Uesugi Kenshin’s toilet, intending to stab him somewhere unmentionable and another who thrust a spear through the floorboards in an attempt to kill Toyotomi Hideyoshi, but was smoked out by another ninja armed with a primitive flamethrower!

As their name suggests, the ninja are masters of assassination – equally capable of flaying their enemies alive in a hail of throwing stars or cutting them to pieces with flashing swords. With multiple attacks, a unit of ninja can punch well above its weight, carving up heroes and elite units with ease.

Keep them out of sight, behind terrain or screened by other units, until the time to strike arrives. The stealthy special rule allows your ninja to re-roll missed shots, further increasing their lethality!
