Pick a model of the week, eh? How hard could that be…
Well, actually pretty hard as there are a bunch of figures that have come out and blown me away across all our ranges. However, as a huge fan of the Pike & Shotte range, it has to be the Earl of Essex. I remember the brief going out for the first of the ‘character’ models, and this guy came back with bags of character. It pains me a little that, being a Royalist, I have picked a Parliamentarian, but I really do like everything about this figure. The detailing on the armour is exquisite, the facial details are spot on for ‘Old Robin’, and the horse is just right. I’ve snuck him into my Thirty Years War army as a Cuirassier commander.
I think the Earl of Essex sets the standard for the character models we have planned.
