Very nice SP, great idea for the WF cavalryman with the WG transfer on it…

The Auxiliary Infantry look very nice as well, I admire the green and red colour scheme. However, one minor piece of constructive-criticism is the faces: how come their eyes, lips or tongues aren't painted? The faces, to me, don't appear to the same standard as the rest of the model because they've been painted as just flesh. I really think that painting the lips and eyes would bring the standard up even more than they are already!
But on the other hand, if you are happy with them as they are, that's ok too! :)

Cheers, Lewis

My 1st Cohort of Tungrians

Hi Varus,

I appreciate your comments on the faces a lot, but after 25 years of painting I simply gave up on them. No more eyes and lips for me. I do admire people who are able to convincingly paint those facial features but I am not one of them.

My attempts always made them look like members of a boy group on a particilarily bad trip.

So my only miniatures with painted lips are female figures.

Certainly a personal flaw of mine but I think I am too old to be bothered now Wink.

Thanks again for your comments and please do not think I am an ignorant old sod...please.

Cheers

I like them "as is", the shading does enough to give the eyes and mouth definition. On my non-characters I too only use a base colour, highlight, and wash, and I think it's fine. On characters I step it up.

Nice work, SP!

Take car. Go to Mum's. Kill Phil - "Sorry." - grab Liz, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. How's that for a slice of fried gold?

They look really good SP. With regards eyes and mouths, I'm with you on that count. All my old fantasy minis looked like they had just had a major scare (well, many probably had but that is another story). I am in the middle of repainting them all and I am not doing eyes any more. The Dip does a good enough definition job as far as I am concerned. Keep up the good work.
