Colonial Marines

Postby Suetonius Paullinus » Thu Jul 26, 2012 11:27 pm

Tony Reidy from Defiance Games kindly sent me a couple of test sprues (4 minis with lots of options) of his SciFi US Marines the other day.
Well a few months ago actually...
Since I am not really into Science Fiction too much I put them aside for a while.
(To be honest I wasn't particularly thrilled by the sculpts and the helmets looked a little daft to me.)
Anyways, today I finally gave them a go and I tried several head alternatives ending up with a Warlord WWII US plastic head.
It was screaming 'Colonial Marines'!

The result:

Three more are on the workbench 8-)
I might actually try to source some more Defiant marines to build a 8-10 men squad.
And I still got this Tyranids army that has never been built, too. Hmmm..

Cheers

SP

You know, this is only the second time I've seen these and the first was an hour ago.

Weird.

Anyway, love it.

Hi S.P.

Great work on the camo. The helmet looks far better than the one supplied too.

You have made the models look so much better than the original :thumbsup

Happy painting,

Aye, good call on the head. Marines in Aliens wore US M1's and the rifle does look a bit Thompsonesque at the back. Perfect. The more I look the more I want.

Realy well done conversion.
