Roman Cavalry

Postby Johnp4000 » Tue Jun 26, 2012 3:10 pm

My main Romans are based on the Trajanic army however I thought I might add some units form Hadrian's time where I have read the Romans experimented with Kontos armed cavalry and perhaps even Cataphracts , using the spoils from Trajan's Parthian war. Are the Warlord Roman cavalry open armed? Also has anyone used kontos armed Romans in a game?

I actually have WGF cavalry myself, but have played a game with Kontos with a borrowed army. No one have a fit here, but it was Late Imperial Romans versus Spartans, and the Kontos where the only useful cavalry against all those long spear phalanx.
