WG Plastic Germans wip

Postby Johnnie » Fri Jul 13, 2012 6:02 pm

Started to paint my new Germans from Warlord this week. Tried to achieve different shades of green to represent the deterioration of the later war german uniforms. Even made some ripped cloth with green stuff. Too bad I messed up the highlights and I tried to fix it with Gryphonnia Sepia which I think ended up with some of the different shades dissapeared somewhat :shame

My running LMG team. The guy in the middle is carrying his Kar98 under his arm.

Wow, they do look good, I have to get some of those plastic Germans.

I wonder if the parts would mix with the Wargames Factory ones

Absoloutly fantastic... Possibly my fave plastic BA Germans I have seen painted!

Love the weathered look and the torn trouser! Fab!

(WF ones are not compatiable by the way.)

Very nice!

I'd avoid Wargames Factory WWII, the Americans are a little..... Korean War. In fact, very Korean War, so the Germans are likely a bit odd as well.

:) Awesome 8-)
Really hard battle worn appearance, :thumbsup
If you dont mind, first a question:
How you did that unshaven look, I really like it 8-)
and also a suggestion - :old maybe a little more hard wear on the weapons and colouring of wood on Kar 98k-they used Walnut, Elm and Beech laminate for stocks also some panzerfausts were painted dark gray/green but the vast majority of them were german dark yellow.

:thankyou Thank you all for the kind words.

Cubster: I see what you did there ;)

The unshaven parts were painted with a mix of elf flesh and Adeptus Battlegrey. Then applied in a realistic pattern.

As stated in the thread these are Work In Progress so I will get to the weapons and equipment soon :D

Cheers!
