If you realy want the items on offer you should take them.

I did so last week. I got some British and Canadian stuff from UK for a friend and asked 430 €.
He offered me instead of money a Scots Guards Officer's sword , Wilkinson made 1917 , name etching, MC winner, superb condition and a MK II Drummer sword. An original one. The sword alone is worth twice the sum I paid for the stuff.
No question.

I hear ya IO...this is what's making it so hard. The guy offering the items is just as passionate as I am. I've even considered taking the trade and selling off parts. The hitch is SWMBO - I've been out of work for a while now and the amounts being tossed out would be a big help. SWMBO thinks I should take the money and start a small on-line business dealing in militaria. That is one thought. All the items he's offering, with the exception of the Granatenwerfer 16, are easy enough to find.

Something now has happened that really makes me feel bad though... The guy wanting to do the trade...he showed the pics to a friend of his. This 'friend' has gone behind his back and made the highest offer!!!

At this point...all I know is I'll be glad when Friday gets here.

Good catch there BA!! I started questioning that when I hit middle school. However, the original version just sounds so much more menacing!!

Now that I've thought about it......

It depends on where you come from....for example, if you come from Norfolk or Wal.. ;) you might meet a friend with the greeting
" yo dude give me six!"

ok......I'll get my cloak

Two things,

1) Trading is all about selling something for more than you bought it. As long as each person in the chain is happy with the transaction you know that any argument after the fact is about envy. After all, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, or part with it for, thus the value must surely be subjective to each person along the line.

2) As long as the merchandise is legal, you can trade or collect what you like, and others are free to make their own judgements about it. Justification and judgement ... again, subjective. Much of what we hold as basic human values are based on majority opinion and everyone draws their line in a slightly different place.

OK. Just got out of the movie. Went to see Ted. Do not take your kids!

Anyway. I was going to lock this, my very first thread! But it looks like everyone is ok and getting along. Correus was in favour of the action. But now, I don't have to.

Carry on!

I think most of the time, these discussions do sort themselves out, as long as everyone plays nicely :)
