Besides, I took the hikingtrail and went for James Graham, his Irish and his Highlanders (painting tartans on 28mm... oh dear)

So who saw the BBC4 documentary ( time filler more like it) Cavalier or Roundhead?

I was intrigued by Cromwell's hagiographers; including a QC

Cut down like wheat beneath a
Scythe
And though our limbs may weary
of ripping, slashing, cleaving blows
We face an endless host of foes

I couldn't understand why the Academics involved themselves with the pile of tosh.

The Cavalier spirit won apparently as illustratated by the fact that we're all slappers and yobs now

It was all very tenuous i thought

Summed up nicely by my son who isn't particularly interested in much outside the PS3 ".. its not telling me anything i don't already know, so why are you bothering to watch it?"

As a Parliamentarian (and Leveller at heart) i'm torn on the subject of Cromwell.

or possibly the roundheads won, apparently judging by the byzantine array of rules and regulations which exist , supposedly, to make our lives less free. I also noted that they could not resist a sly dig at "town hall snoopers"
As you say what a load of tosh.

Definitely Cavalier. Although I might have to build an opposing force.
