Thank Warlord, it's Friday!!

Postby Deadmanwade » Fri May 11, 2012 7:49 am

Another week of work is over and done with, so it's time to start making plans for the weekend.

As for me, I am off out for dinner and beers with some clients tonight. Provided I don't overindulge (too much), I am going to pop into my local hobby store tomorrow with copies of Black Powder and Hail Caesar and try to convince the owner to start stocking historical minis. After that I will crack on with getting my Warwickshires done for the AZW.

Enjoy the weekend everyone.
Close enough to play with. - My motto for painting historicals.

Painting Teddy Bear Pirates for my friend Michael Broadbent this night and for the next few days.

Japanese on hold until I get this done. Oh, after seeing the Perries DAK and Eight Army I had to paint up a Panzer 1a in desert scheme.

Have a great night and weekend.

I've got LED's to make up. I'm new to soldering so it's challenging but enjoyable

I'm packing to go off to Devon for the week so no toy soldier related activities for Undave until we get back :( On the plus side I will be taking my P&S rule book with me so I can devote the odd evening in to actually learning how to play properly.

Can anyone recommend a good "historical" day out near Ilfracombe?

Make sure you get them the right way around or they won't work. Soldering is easy enough, just have a damp sponge or cloth to wipe your iron tip on now and again to cool it. Don't let the solder get too hot and go white and only use a small amount of solder. Oh, and hold things with thin long nosed pliers or you'll burn your fingers!

I will be listening to football playoffs tonight, so I might get some painting in at the same time. I will be doing some gardening and garage clearing this weekend and anything else the missus wants. I have to get some brownie points in because I forgot to tell her that it was Triples next week and that I was helping out there!! Told her this morning and didn't wait for the reaction! Hopefully, all will be well because she has SATS this week and that is filling her thoughts at the moment. Timing is everything.

Watermouth Castle isn't really 'historical' as it's 19th century - but a good family day out nethertheless.

For a proper (ruined) castle you need to go the Oakhampton :D

and Lyford quite close (and in better nick) ;)

Just came back from playgroup with the little one, it's very pleasing for the soul to see her having a sack of fun in a room full of toys with other kids.

Have my final exam for my Speech class today. Then I'm done with school until August. Then, just seven more trips in and I'm done all together!!!! Planning on pumping out as much BA between now and then as I can.

Hope to get a bit more painting done today.

Helen, I have a friend who has a ton of those teddy bear figs. You name the era, he has them. Post some pics, I'm sure he'd love to see them!
