The Army Painter is a great investment!
Definitely test it on a few old figures first and one or two highlights after the dip do help a great deal although not necessary for a tabletop standard force.
I am happily married with kids and the little spare time I have I would rather socialise with mates over a game. I used to regularly enter and win painting comps. This made me shy away from Army Painter but once I tried it
I still paint the odd miniature the old fashioned way but still get very good results using the methods mentioned above.
I am very pedantic. If I am not happy the way a figures is painted I will start over again.
