Damn, that looks good ... and the ones I have found are very expensive!

Yeah... seems they can go for a fair bit - a lot more than the original publisher's list price. This copy cropped up at the local secondhand bookstore - too expensive for me to buy it guiltfree for myself, but still way, way less than they normally go for  . I had pointed it out it to my wife, and days later, a giftwrapped parcel was presented to me. :D She did mention summink about keeping it in collectable condition... and not spilling paint on it.... ;)

Being curious as to why the prices of new and secondhand copies seem so often to be badly inflated, I called the listed office of Rattray Publications to enquire if it is still in print.

It is.

Yes, the list price is high (ZAR1400) but it can still be ordered: use the generic contact details on the Rattray website: http://www.fugitivesdrift.com

Eek, £100 new? I'm not sure I want it that much. Hey, I'll bet we can cajole Sirius into scanning the whole thing and making it into a free PDF! I'm sure the copyright laws in this case are more like vague guidelines anyway.

Also, I'm going to recast a bunch of GW figures then sell them from a barrow in Lenton, Nottingham.

Has anyone read John Wilcox's Horns of the buffalo? I just ordered it as the description sounds decent. I think its his first work of fiction on the subject so im not expecting a Bernard Cornwell or Patrick O'Brien. if i remember after reading it i will throw a quick review up here for those that may be interested.

yeah, I've read it, I thought it might be a bit like Sharpe but it was far from it. Still, it was ok and I'm thinking of picking another one up at some point to see if they get better, I can't quite remember what it was but there was something in it that kept annoying me, if I remember I'll edit my post.
