Grossdeutschland @ Kursk AAR (Game 8)

Just published a short report from last weekends game. It was the "Berezovka Warehouse" scenario from the SkirmishCampaigns book played in 28mm.

Sounds like a great game and I applaud that Russian farmer for his luxuriously conditioned crops.

THX, It was fun game, just over way too fast.

Regarding the crops... well the farmer gave his daugther away to the local commisar so he got the best seeds (no pun intended!).

The tanks are Bandai plastic kits. So I "just" took the plastic Schürzen and cut the plates apart. I marked a 2mm boarder along all the edges and cut them out. When done I glued a hex shaped net fibric to the backside and glued the frames to the brackets.

To be honest... I would never to it again. At first it seems to be easy going, but the deeper you cut into the plastic the harder it gets to keep the cuts straight and you need a lot of preassure to do it. I think in the end it took me 5 or 6 hours just for this one tank and my hands were hurting like hell. I had planned to do it on all four tanks, but in the end it remained just this one!

At first it seems to be easy going, but the deeper you cut into the plastic the harder it gets to keep the cuts straight and you need a lot of preassure to do it.

You can buy metal cutting discs for the mini drill with serrated teeth, specially for cutting plastic, soft metal and wood because your standard diamond dust cutting disc will melt it. If you're doing any cutting project like that in future they might save your fingers the agony.

I even have these... problem is... I have had some bad exerience with the plastic being pulled away by the drag of the disk. Since I did not want to risk any damage to the pieces I decided to do it by hand.

Yeah, that's true, they can sometimes wedge and pull.
