ECW Infantry Sprues

Postby Suetonius Paullinus » Sat Feb 21, 2009 9:08 am

First newsletter in a while I really couln't wait for to arrive. This ECW sprue looks fantastic.

I love the seperate hats and helmets better than seperate heads. Well done. The ammount of detail is absolutely stunning and the hole thing seems to be the best plastic kit ever to me.

Now quickly alternative hats and helmets in metal, different flags, cavalry, artillery, King Charles, and..Oliver Cromwell himself.

Glory days...Cool

For Parliament and Freedom!

Cheers

It looks like that there's going to be one body on that sprue with no arms, I asume they'll be on the command sprue. Looking very nice indeed, I can't wait to get my lacey cuffed hands on some.

Yes indeed.

We wanted to give players the option for fielding unarmoured pikemen for New Model Army. So, we dropped in an extra body. The left over body will have arms to make him a sergeant for your command group as the ensign, captain and musician will be on the command sprue along with rather a lot of options for arming and posing.

We can;t wait for them either as pretty much everyone at Warlord wants to start their army!

Cheers,

Paul

That's in a different thread. As I understand the sprues are essentially the same but you get a different painting guide and more importantly different flags. I guess that is the key component. However if your store is out of one you wouldn't be wrong to buy the other. The scots will exhibit more differences in dress and equipment. There will also be alternative heads (or headgear?) available as extras to further customise the look. You will also be able to mix and match components between all three sets of plastics (including the cavalry). See the thread heade 'Differences'.

The first two plastic boxed sets - Parliament and Royalist infantry will contains the same miniatures. As both sides were effectively kitted out the same it would be pointless to make two very different sets.

What makes the sets different is the box art, painting guide and a number of full colour flags which will all be different each set.

I as a Swede are not too familiar with the English civil war, but have always been quite fond of the stories about John Lilburne and his Levellers, would I be able to create them from this set?
