First question on P&S rules - Stamina

Postby jazbo » Sat Apr 21, 2012 4:01 pm

One notable exception, amongst rules text which is probably 95% the same as the original BP, is the lack of a table showing stamina values.

In the army lists it shows, for example, Covenanter pike block as a Stamina of 4. You can also pay to have it as a large unit.

So does a large unit get a stamina of 5 or just the combat bonuses?

Looks like standard pike block is stamina 4, so would go up if made Large.

Funnily when my group was putting togther our mod for BP we did exactly the same!

Its basically to make pike tougher to shift than an equivalent number of other infantry I suppose.

Hi
The rules for large units were originally scattered across the different rules chapters, as large (and small units) get modifiers to shooting, hand-to-hand and stamina.
For this reason, both large and small unit special rules are consolidated in the 'Useful Rules' section.
Large Units. Page 90
+1 Shooting (if they have ranged weapons)
+2 Hand-to-hand
+1 Stamina
May ignore disorder by taking 1 damage instead.

The rules for Small Units are on page 92

Hope this helps

Thanks for clearing that up Steve. I like the ignoring disorder for large units to maintain momentum, nice rule.
