For brickwork on my Berlin project i have used 7mm brick sheets from antenocitis workshop, this works well for new brickwork, but i have found that covering this with a single ply of Toilet roll (of all things) then stippling on watered down PVA gives the bricks texture, you can do this before cutting the styrene sheets for ease of application.

@gorgarrak Thanks for the tips... I think I am set on the lime finish for this one, but I am always on the look out for quick brick work effects!

I am lucky that my wife's works college shop sells Foamboard at really cheap pices to staff and students.. (In white and black!) but that Fred Aldous site has some interesting stuff on it.

Update time:
The basic structure is now together... The back is simply a replica big front template, the sides were made old school with ruler and protractor.



Details:
I created a second template for the palisade detailing, and printed it in heavy card... The with the help of Mrs M cut them out and glued em on.



The railing was made using ball headed map pins and a strip of card.



The door was made from the template, additional foam board pieces, and columns from balsa wood and drinking straws



After looking at plastic grates, of the shelf options, dolls house windows I decided to just bite the bullet and make them with plasticard, match sticks and card. Worked out well enough, but requires pactience. Tried to use some netting as leading but it didn't look right, on the look out go a smaller net... Will be liking carefully on the fruit isle!

Next, more windows and then the chimneys and roofing.

Looking great, it is coming together extremely well, i hope those drinking straws stay in place though as i have never been able to get them to stick down except with hot glue,
I'll pray to the gods of Foambord that nothing warps - like the top floor of my project

I just use super glue with the straws. Glue them down and hold them till it starts to set, the later on run another line down the join... Has worked out fine for me in the past. I need to tidy up the column bottoms with a bit of green stuff.

Downer about your foam board warping... Has it been painted? I have not ever had that issue. I always spray base coat my buildings, inside and out, even if I'm not making an interior. What glue have you used.

@mikeland - on the subject of foamboard warpage, it is usually as the glue (P.V.A.) is drying as i always base-coat terrain with GW foundation paints mixed with Talcum powder for texture with a brush (super fast drying and fills small holes) though it is slow work i can paint different areas different colors depending weather i want a light or dark finish, my color of choice at the moment is Adeptus Battlegrey or whatever it is called now!
