Colonel Charles Gerard's regiment

Postby Chilledenuff » Fri Apr 13, 2012 2:24 pm

I've finally got some paint on my ECW toys (yay!). These are awful phone pics and the unit isn't varnished/based or has it's standard but still, some progress:

I finally decided to lay out the unit as follows (s=sergeant, o=officer, e=ensign, m=musician, p=pikeman), front rank at the bottom of the diagram:

p p s p
p p p p
e m p p
p o p p

Thanks for the kind words.... Wrong Side? Is this some roundhead nonsense and lies or a critique on command placement? :D

That's right - don't take this from the Rebelles - stand for the True and Rightful King! Who wants Christmas cancelled? Kittens on spikes?

We seek only to pursuade his majesty's of the misguided counsel of his advisers...Come on now don't lose your head over this...oh sorry...!

While I remember about it, all good Royalists should read John Barrat's excellent book 'Cavaliers' http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cavaliers-John-Barratt/dp/0750935251/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1334332059&sr=1-4 (Other booksellers sell it too.) It is a good read packed with much propaganda, oh sorry I mean information regarding those loyal to the Tyrant/King ;)

As you know I don't normally comment on such things but I think you will find that Westwaller is correct, these finely painted fellows are misguidedly following the Tyrant, England's Trouble, that devious and duplicious fellow Charles. However we can feel some pity that these poor chaps have believed the lies that so easily drop from from his forked tongue, and those of his evil advisors.

Oh and it is 'rebels', not Rebelles ;)
