Well, my Friday has been sorted by the missus. She's just dragged me around Ikea and bought all sorts of flat packs for me to assemble (not really the sort of model building I had in mind). What an Easter break this is going to be! :(
Never mind, if I get a minute I am going to see if I can get a blog up and running. BD inspired me with a little pep talk!

@Cubster, definitely go down into Boscastle. Just mind it isn't raining. Last time we were there was a couple of hours before the flood. We got out just before it happened! The run out of the village (the other way, not back up to Tintagel) has some wonderful views. You have to stop to enjoy them because they are behind you, but they are worth it! :D

Yes Happy Easter to all.

Cubster I reccomend The Bossiny House Hotel just out of town for some lovely fresh local grub. Massive prawns!

Done now until Tuesday 8-)

Plan to have a good family weekend and also loads of reading. That and loads of painting. Hoping to finish off my Hessian Jagers, 17th Dragoons and British Legion for my Guilford Courthouse army. Then it'll be a toss up as to whether it'll be the 23rd Welch Fusiliers, Battalion of foot guards or the 71st Highlanders next.

I've also made my decision on a new Bolt Action army. Well, kind of. It'll be a German late war force as everyone should one. I had made my mind up to go for a Heer unit but the siren call of pea dot and camo smocks is too hard to pass up so whilst I'm converting plastics and metals I'll have to think about where to go with it.

Also very interested in doing conversions to make Slim's 14th Army in Burma.

It's going to be a good few days :)
Cheers,

Paul Sawyer

@Cubster: Hope The headland at Boscastle didn't have any electric fences.... :D :D :D :D

I'll be on shift Friday. Hoping to spend the evening writing my final full speech for speech class. Be done with the class at the end of the month. No school until August then, which means the paint shop will be back in full swing! Perfect with Warlord coming to visit us in Chicago at Adepticon in a few weeks. Planning to buy a pile of plastic and resin WWII in preparation of the BA rules.

Saturday will be spent playing a colonial game using the Sword and the Flame rules with a local group. Should be fun. Know nothing of the era or the rules, but it's a fun group.

Sunday is Easter with the family!

Happy Easter to all of ya's!!!!

@ Paul:

Don't you have employees to build and paint stuff for you? What gives!?!?! Crack the whip over there!

Also, have you guys ever had an Italian beef? I've been thinking I may bring a few to Adepticon as a gift for your visit to Chicago....

Finishing off my 15mm transport sections, and just undercoated the next batch of infantry to be painted over Easter. Saturday will be a BP 6mm Napoleonic game. I have a devious setup involving a river in mind. Haven't yet had a bad game with BP, but there's always a first time :)

Apart from that I'm hoping for some decent weather so I can take the bike out. Not holding my breath though.

Happy Easter and, to show my lack of a true classical education, what the **** is an Aristotlean witch? In my defense they made me do Latin at school, not Greek :P You saw John Cleese in Life of Brian doing the Romanes Eunt Domus bit? That was my second year Latin master that was.

Hey Cubster, what a small world. We're off to Boscastle this weekend! My favourite place too. We had our honeymoon there, just up the hill at Lesnewth.
My surname is Botterell which is the Anglicised version of Bottreaux from whence Boscastle gets it's name.
I went there for the first time eager to see what my castle looked like only to find a barely discernable hump in the grass (no reference to you and your wife on the hummock)

The weather down here is due to get progressively worse over the weekend so visiting earlier rather than Sunday/Monday is recommended.

Have fun

It's only lunch time here in Southern California. Fortunately, my business is tied to the financial markets, so we get tomorrow off.

With any luck this weekend I'll finally finish my foursome of 15mm French S35 tanks. I've had them primed green for ages, and finally painted the dark brown camo splotches on two of them earlier this week. I need to paint the brown on the other two, then apply the beige/light brown to all four, paint up the tracks, and apply the unit insignia decals.

Once those are done, I've got five Panhard AMD-35s that need to be finished (they're primed only) in order to round out my French DLM unit.

Of course, this weekend won't be spent only painting. The extended family will be heading to my parents' place for the holiday on Sunday. And my parents both had their birthdays this week (two days apart), so the extended family will also be heading over to their place on Saturday to celebrate those.
