A very early start to Friday - 6 April Edition

Postby grant » Thu Apr 05, 2012 3:12 pm

Well, I am off today and don't return to work until Tuesday, so this is my Friday! Hooray!

6inches of fresh snow means housebound until probably Saturday when it will all melt.

Net results: Glorious painting time ahead! The Baden Dragoons have skin, red, blue complete, and will any luck will be finished by the weekend. And that's my goal.

Plus to find some more Jaffa Cakes.
Take car. Go to Mum's. Kill Phil - "Sorry." - grab Liz, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. How's that for a slice of fried gold?

We're off to Tintagel for a quick break this weekend, so if anyone wants to break into the house and steal our identities, we'd be very grateful for taking the overdraft off our hands. Thanks. Also, could you redo the seal around the bath please, I've been avoiding it for ages now.

Drawing up plans for new games room, more work on Foreign legion (they've been staring at me for weeks now), finish off Leonidas and make myself sick on eating Easter eggs

@Cubster- I'm very jealous I love Tintagel and haven't been there for years, while you're on your way down you should stop off at Boscastle, one of my favourite places on the planet to sit on the cliff front and let life pass me by, plus they have a witchcraft museum there, good ideas for Witchfinder!!

@Cubster: if you need to do some research for Witchfinder, feel free to pop down and see my mother-in-law at Newquay, but don't forget to take an iron maiden or two and a ducking stool ... ;)
Bit of a mixed bag this weekend; mountain bike club curry ride tonight, so little riding and more beers; a fast 50 on the road bike tomorrow after church to clear the head before trying to finish off (if I'm still alive) the Witchfinder minis Carvel and I started on last night; maybe I can squeeze in some work on the 100+ Celts that are still in a state of undercoat - but only if I finish the beasties first! Not working Saturday, so a trip to Hobbycraft in Bolton on the hunt for Devlan Mud before heading to the Lakes ... might accidentally bump into Portcullis Games for a "look" as SWMBO is working ... :o ;)

It's all Yanks for me this weekend!
Well, a bit ECW for good measure thrown in as well..

@cc
Devlan Mud will live on, they just renamed it Agrax Earthshade.
Bought a WD today and there's a lot about the new paints.
I fear I'm tempted to try their system now at some stage..arrgh!

Cheers

I've been to that museum and thought it was pants! All very new-age, very Platonic witchcraft as opposed to Aristotlean. If I wanted to learn about crystal-rubbing and sniffing incense I'd visit my cousin.

The headland at Boscastle has a comfortable grass hummock right at the end, which will never be the same after the wife and I turned up at 8.30am and needed to kill some time before everything opened.

I hope the weather station overlooking it wasn't manned at the time.

Yay! Sure feels like Friday!

After an exhausting couple of months i am looking forard to the break!

I plan to get in some serious hobby time this weekend. Finish praetorians off, really I will! I have started on several ww2 damaged buildings and will work on them, plus painting first plastic bolt action Germans. Also thinking about walls or fences for my celt settlement. Plus lots of cake, biscuits, chocolate and all the naughty stuff I don't normally have.

That and some family time will rounds things off!

Have a great Easter folks!

Oh yes, have a great Easter break .

With the bad weather forecasts the garden parties might become indoor events and no long Easterwalks. But with my new stock of Warlord miniatures (and some Jaffa cakes) I'm sure I will be happy.
