They look great, Carvel. Are those bears from Trent Miniatures? They have some very nice wild animal figures.

Bears, wolves and boars (and some deer - not started yet) from Foundry. Very nice, but not cheap. 
Slight cautionary tale: one of the wolves (you get two in a blister) only had 3 legs - bit poor on the QC front.
@mikeland: Piglets still need some work; had to do some boar, just need to get one on a spit now!

It was a really good nights work. What was interesting was the ability to chat more ... it seems we are coming to an agreement that the chatting is probably more important than the gaming, so the painting allows room for that.
Perhaps the ultimate goal would be a wargame with no rules at all and one six sided dice. Everything resolved by the invention of conversation...and the odd roll of the dice (from a cup into a wood turned bowl) to add an element of chance.
You could have a universal set of rules for all periods under this system...it would , unfortunately, ruin any plans by Warlord for further rules releases. I should start a new thread.....or my own website!!!! I need a business plan

There is a "diceless" RPG based around the Roger Zelazny "Amber" series; very ... odd 
(fits well with the books!), more like storytelling than gaming. Perhaps a fast-play, stripped-down version of HC (or BP/P&S)) - in the vein of "DBA relative to DBMM" - might be something for Sir Rick et al to consider ...
