Postby carvel2 » Sun Apr 01, 2012 2:35 pm

Having finished all my 'projects' and waiting for gladiators.... ;) ...had a look in the bits box and came up with these for an Easter project

Ooo nice idea, looks good. You should put them in a line, it'll look like they're doing some sort of ancient "Full Monty" tribute by the way they're swinging their jock straps about ;)

They arnt just ordinary slingers... They are m&s slingers... I mean praetorian slingers. Very nice! Looking forward to this developing! Do you always base before painting?

here we go...some progress. Decided to go for the bog standard flurry of red on everything

Struggling to get an even coat of red on the shields.
Have used gore red followed by bleeod red finishing off with vallejo carmine red. The Vallejo always seems to dry shiny (tried shaking the bottle)
Always end up perplexed by the last segment of shoulder armour  Sometimes painted as cloth sometimes as metal!
Have eyeballs to do, highlights to red and armour and a decision about the shields. I have no transfers so its going to be a wobbly hand job. Not sure on designs.
