Any plans to make Jacobite figures?

Postby grant » Fri Mar 30, 2012 2:32 am

Just wondering if Warlord plans to make any armies to be led by the Charlie and Cumberland figures. :D

Plastic Jacobites.
Plastic Government forces.

Stuff like that.

Grant you read my mind, I'm just selling off an army (that I don't have plans for anymore), as in the summer I plan to buy a massive army from Front rank for this. Now if WG were to even hint at the possibility then I'd put it on hold. I'd hate to splash out hundreds on metals when I could get plastic at a fraction of the cost.

If I were you I would hold fire on the metals... the Duke of Cumberland and the Bonnie Prince models to me indicate a hint of the possibility. Warlord have stated that they intend to bring out full ranges of the figures they do so, though it might be a long wait I think they may well in the future, unless Paul comes on here and rules it out.

@ mikeland - the Vulcan in me (oo er missus) says you're right and be patient young padawan, but you know what it's like when you get an idea and can't wait. I have the Duke and Prince figs from Warlord and can't wait to make a start on them. I might just have to get one reg from Front rank to see me through until WG drop hints that they migth do them?! (or not).

I think that the size difference is not so big and that you will need both ranges. Not to be mixed in the same unit but no problem in seperate ones.
The following picture of a Warlord Highlander and a Front Rank one may help you:

For the Jacobites I want a big mix of poses and arms. So I did a lot of conversions on Front Rank Highlanders and Lowlanders. And I use those from the ECW range that can be used for 1745.

Thanks I.O. I actually want to mix WG Highlanders into this as I've already got them painted for battles with the Covenanters

Some Irish Picquets (detachments from France's Irish Brigade) and Fitzjames' Horse would be fun too! :D

No response from Warlord? Top Secret project, or non-starter?

Hi,

One question I neglected to ask at Salute on Saturday was about the prospect of Jacobites for the '45, was a little afraid of a negative response and didn't want to spoil the day. So here goes would there be any 18th century for release maybe with Jacobites included please?

Cheers
