Öhm's regiment

Postby Invisible officer » Fri Mar 30, 2012 10:36 am

And now my first Warlord Swedish Horse are ready, they got a Kornett from Öhm's Regiment.

They will have a hard time against the Imperial heavies without the Musketeers.

Thank you. The Warlords sets had been I nice birthday surprise.

The light blue sashes are just a guess, based on the Kornett's colour. Well, anything apart from imperial red might have been worn.

Happy Birthday... a birthday that brings 28mm minis i all the better! ;) As I said on your other thread, these look excellent, like your horses.

Happy Birthday IO - not sure how we missed that?

Great looking unit. Your horses are especially nice.

Thank you all very much.

I paint my horses with artist oil colours. , I started to use them on the classic flat 30mm German Zinnfiguren as a child. Long long ago. Cloth and similar in acryl. I like the different effects on the surfaces.
Birthdays are awfull, you start to calculate. :? But some nice Warlord miniatures are a good balsam.

They are nice - I've never used oils (and probably never will), but they do work well the horses. I keep wondering about some of these to use as Blinder cavalry for the Witchfinder rules - must resist! But these look great, IO - how about a close-up of those heavies too, please?

@IO: Apologies! They are nice; they look pretty hard, too! 'Tis a pity there weren't any in the ECW; there is a suit of reiter armour in a museum in Jedburgh, probably stolen from a mercenary by some reivers or by a bunch of prickers who went to the Continent. It's a pity that WG don't sell any of their Cavalry boxes' contents (like these) as separates, unlike the infantry; you can buy the horses, but not the riders. Same with the mounted Dragoons or ECW cavalry ... though they're metal, of course.
And - a second (belated) apology! Herzlichen Glückwunsch!

And now the Musketeers are ready to support the Horse against the Imperials.

And to get Gustav Adolph a sniper for the Imperials. There was a story circulated in Protestant Germany that he was shot by a Hunter who used Freikugeln. Made with the help of the Devil. (No, that's no fools day joke)
