So, I'm planning a force based on the 2nd Corps, Army of Northern Virginia during the Battle of Chancellorsville. So far, I have my force organized into "Brigades" as per the Black Powder system, with each brigade representing a division and the actual brigades are "units" as laid out in Black Powder, with each "brigade" possessing essentially between 7 and 5 units. I have noticed, in planning out my forces, that there seems to be an overage of artillery, with each "brigade" having, on average, four guns attached under the heading of a single "unit", with each gun representing a battery. Considering just the guns attached to the infantry "brigades" themselves, that brings the total to 17 pieces. Add to that the 10 guns in the artillery reserve "brigade" and that seems to be quite a lot of artillery.
Are there any ACW scholars or experienced players who happen to know if this is, in fact, normal for such a force during this era or if I somehow did my figuring wrong?
Thanks in advance
