Very exciting pictures!
I think they won me over now, I ordered a box of Teutonic Knights and if they are as nice as they seem to be the new ones are on my shopping list for Salute 8-)

I seriously need some period research now..

Cheers

Anyone know if there's a HC supplement in the works for the period? Or, will it be covered in the second army list book?

Not out yet. Last bit of news on it was this Spring or Summer.

The cut-off date for the book is 1200 AD, so it's probably going to miss the Teutonics. But you should be able to build lists up through the Third Crusade or thereabouts, and you could adapt the Teutonics (as well as the other plastic mounted figures due out next month at Salute) to those. I'm currently considering doing something along those lines, though I might need to wait until my wallet gets a bit fatter...

Painted templars and sargeants on steve dean painting forum. They look very promising.

I'm afraid I wasn't impressed. The proportions looked toy-like with enlarged heads again - apparently it wasn't just the helmets to blame in the Teutonic set - and unrealistic looking weapons and the poses looked stiff, like moveable action figures. They looked better to me on the sprue!

I'm sure they'll sell well especially for those looking to build a sizeable force at a good price, and they're not hideous, just very much tabletop quality rather than display quality to my eyes. I'll be happy to spend a few extra sheckels for the Perry's 1st/2nd Crusade metals and wait for their 3rd Crusade stuff to come out.

I'd agree that Perry sets that bar, and the Teutonics just miss for me. Ah well. I will have to continue selling to get more Perry!

Perrys mounted men at arms may well re-ignite my WotR stuff.
