As long as the GW stores keep encouraging people to buy units of the shelf, mid tournament to reinforce then un painted plastic/resin will be forever a part if GW games! Funny it is often seem as the worse possible in bad taste among some historical gamers.

On the whole I think the paints seem fairly good, getting positive reviews. I just wish they would have kept the old names and then just added to the range! Make it more effort for us with limited brain room!

I will still buy a few GW paints, though for WW1-ww2 the Vallejo win hands down for easier colour matching.

I'm a big fan of triad systems.
I play both historical and Sci/fi-Fantasy and flit between the three when I paint. Having pre-mixed shades means I can keep a certain amount of colour consistency between units in each system.

I'm also a Vallejo fan but having a triad system on my doorstep (without Foundry postage) will be quite useful for the main uniform colours.

The new colours are a welcome addition, the price seems reasonable and I don't mind the foundation style pots either so I'll wait until the teenage feeding frenzy has passed and pop in and have a look for myself.

I think I may have to buy a bottle soon for testing . :?

Devlin Mud was one of GWs most popular sellers . I am really going to be most astonished if they have discontinued it :|

I've heard good things about the quality of most of the paints. The metallics are poor though apparently.

Thanks for letting us know re the metallics. I always felt the metallics were strong with GW. I currently use the alcohol based Vallejo, and honestly, I fight with them. When they work they are gorgeous. When they don't work they make a mess.
