Interesting. What do you need to add to stop your top men running away and hiding in Oak trees for the night?

I need to find a forum full of good and true men of parliament lovers of liberty and truth, will to take a stand against the king and his wicked advisors... too many of the kings men around here by half.

Good so see there are still some of us who love freedom and liberty and wont bow the knee to this tyrant. ;)

Appologies Chilledenuff , for your thread getting hijacked.

Ooh! A rebel apologising :I don't mind. A bit of banter between the loyal followers of the king and the followers of the Christmas banning types is fine.

What do you need to add to stop your top men running away and hiding in Oak trees for the night?

they can sleep wherever they want. So long as they pay their naval taxes :D

You could always mount them the way Saxon Dog does! :D

Each block has it's own command stand.

Down with the traitors! Long live the King!!!!

Yeah.... they look awesome. Saxon Dog's armies (and blog) are definateley top notch. Perhaps this might be the way to go. At the moment I've just got my first unit undercoated so nowhere near basing (yet). Separate command does look very cool and I guess is slightly more historically accurate. I'll have to think on it

according to drill manuals of the time, there should be a sergeant in the front rank on the right side, a corporal in the rear rank on the left side, and thats about it! ensigns, musicians and the captain would only join the pike block when recieving a charge from horse, so would be mixed in with the musketeers behind the pike. iv either got my command figures scattered throughout the pike block or forming a rear rank of their own.

as much as i like saxon dogs painting, im just not keep on the standards he has used. its a good idea, but i personally wouldnt have used different companies standards to represent each element of one company. but considering how well he has painted them, i can happily over look that!
