WW2 Desert War

Postby kinsnevatt » Mon Mar 26, 2012 8:01 pm

Hi there,

I know that warlord gets bombarded with requests for all sorts of miniatures and they have done an amazing job over the last couple of years bringing out such a variety, but is there a chance of there being a nice collection of desert war miniatures, plastic and metal like their recent additions to the BAM range, Italians, British and Germans would be great. I don't think that this theatre has been tapped into like other theatres such as north west europe etc.

It would be great to recreate the countless battles between the desert rats and Afrika Korps including their allies.

I keep asking for this too.
"You're a big man, but you're in bad shape. With me, it's a full time job." – Lt. Bromhead to Prince Dabulamanzi before the Battle of Rorke's Drift.

DAK and desert Brits with knobbly knees sticking out their shorts would be great.

I second this! They would look great.
Take car. Go to Mum's. Kill Phil - "Sorry." - grab Liz, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. How's that for a slice of fried gold?

Metals would be good, I think. Half the motorpool is already there and with the Allied side there's a lot of repetition.

I was thinking plastic for the bulk of the infantry, british in shorts with tin helmets and fixed bayonets!! DAK with a variety of head swaps to include equipment for the panzer grenadiers and fallshirmjager heads for the para regiment in von broichs infantry division in tunisia!!! Metal figures for command, engineers, heavy weapons etc.
For me the desert war has such a huge range of possibilities with so many different nationalities taking part.

I don't think any other company has really taken this campaign by the horns in 28mm and produced a large range of figures for it apart from artizan. I think this would be very popular with alot of people.

Come on warlord, what do you think?

regards
