weird how both dark angels green and orkhide shade both convert to Caliban green.. makes me wonder why they where separate to begin with

£333 with the free case doesn't actually sound that bad, although I can't see myself buying it anytime soon

Just glad there's a conversion chart. I won't be buying the whole set but will probably pick up the odd pot when I run out.

Although the 40k starter set does look interesting. Especially with the Dark Angel Marines on the front. Subtle hint to 6th edition anyone?

RE: dakkadakka conversion chart- How can Flat Brown be the match for Calthan Brown? It is more a match to Scorched Brown surely? U.S Field drab to Khemri? er no. It is kind of GW to let me zoom in to read a page or two of their book I can tell it probably is not worth buying!!!

Yeah, I don't think conversion charts are the be-all, end-all when it comes to colour.

Of course, I don't worry about conversions with paint. I have my brand picked.

I'm excited at the prospect but I fear for my projects. I think Coat D'Arms will be making more money from me.

And if anyone disagrees with me, then bring it on! :D

From what I read most of the colours are not exactly like the old ones. The conversion chart is the closest you will get. Thats why some colours end up covering two of the old colours.

As I'm a fan of the original foundation paints - and yet to find those colours with better coverage - then hopefully I will be able to pick up a replacement when I run out that is as good and is as close a colour match as possible. After all, even GW won't want to completely hack customers because they can't get the correct paint any more ;)

Re the Vallejo range, whats the difference between the "Game" and "model Colour" range. I saw their foundation paint version and their washes but wasn't entirely clear what the difference was between game and model?

Their game range was meant to be a parallel to GW. For whatever reason, the paints were different than the model range - they do not have the same concistency, or coverage

The model range is really aimed to modellers - panzer colours and such.
