All the dead have been buried and prayers offered. It is our intent to send out a patrol to clear the woods and destroy the places of worship before they become a focus for malcontents.
Our local guide tells us that the tribe is at its most vulnerable at dusk so we will strike then and show them their quaint, foolish superstitions are no match for the cold logic of a legionaries steel. Tomorrow will be a day for preparing the men for the assault.
Until then, the payroll and stores need auditing.

Catch them on Monday after a Grand Slam. They probably won't be at their best.

There is always a stack of paperwork to do!

Good luck against the Barbarians... be careful how much you trust local guides though...

The new centurion, posted as a replacement, isnt up to much. He's turned the troops out far too late. Some feeble excuse about a bad stomach. I'm sending him out regardless of the time. He can learn the hard way through the ill temper of his legionaries.

The patrol is back in! Fools. Ambushed by two pigs and got lost in the woods. Not a sniff of a Celt or their miserable shrine.
I think I'll get the duty commander to get them on a show parade tomorrow at dawn for their troubles.
