Model Sizes ??

Postby canadasteve » Wed Mar 14, 2012 10:25 pm

Has anyone else noticed the size difference between the Imperial Officers (Mounted and Foot) compared with the other models such as Unleash Hell (Foot figure) The Imperial foot officer measure foot to eye only 25mm whereas the Unleash measures 28mm !!
Cheers

Not surprising as the Legionaires and the Auxillaries differ so greatly. Not getting at Warlord as the Legionnaires were there first boxset however I'm not fielding any auxillaries mainly for that reason. Some may say its irrelevant however they don't look right to my eye.

I realize that aesthetics are a matter of personal preference and that there is no correct answer in terms of size difference. That being stated, I prefer to have variations in my units. From my perspective it reflects the height differences you would expect to find in any body of troops. Mixing sizes, or manufacturers is a method of setting my units a bit apart. Not to everyones taste I realize, but I find it to be appealing.
If I remember correctly, the WG Auxiliary box set is meant to represent a unit recruited somewhere in Gaul, and the minis are/were purposely sculpted to be larger then the ethnic Italian Legionaries. At least its plausible........8>) Again your milage may vary.
Regards to you all.
