Yes it looks OK but not ultra realistic. But then again is probably a lot more robust than say using Woodland Scenics tree foliage.

I will place it on my list for consideration . I used to see plenty of this type of stuff (in its raw form) when I used to go to the model rail exhibitions . Most in the North West tend to be in the Autumn time.Thats probably around the time I intend to do some scenery work.

I have to say, Colonel, it looks better in the flesh. The pics don't do it justice. Next show you go to, look up The Last Valley. You'll see what I mean. Admittedly, it might not look as good as the Woodland Scenics stuff, but then do you want something that looks good and is going to stand up to the rigours of abuse and use it will get at a wargames club or do you want something that looks a little better, but you have to repair when you get it out of the box? I have to say that it makes for excellent hedges and bocage. Much better than the trees.

I quite like rubberised horsehair for some projects, but I also like the woodland scenics stuff. Woodland Scenics stuff becomes really robust if soaked in diluted PVA - turns as hard as, well, dried PVA! That's what I do when I use it for bushes and stuff.

Thanks Al for that link

I certainly think for Bocage type hedges both could be combined. The horse hair in the middle for stength and the Woodland Scenics stuff used sparingly on the outer edges for realisim.I will certainly have a go at this later in the year when I have 2 forces assembled to fight over it :D

And then let the sand see the desert for my next board ;)

Bring on the Crusaders!

You can pull it apart to make tree canopies and what have you. It can be sprayed and you can add flock to make it look more like foliage. It is excellent for Bocage. A bit of an earth wall topped with this stuff and it looks quite impenetrable. Yo can thin it a bit for normal hedges. Be warned, it cuts up easily enough but can be hard on the fingertips when separating the stuff to thin it out.

I use pillow filler for my trees and hedgerows. Couldn't find the rubberized horse hair easily in the states. Works great.

All the trees/hedgerows are made from the stuff. Bought one bag for a few bucks and it looks like it's all I will ever need!
