That is exactly what I was thinking. Also if you think you would enjoy reading a book with Romans in space, then read Sagittarius Command by R.M. Meluch. I feel like I'm mentioning this a lot, but it's the thing that got me interested in Romans.

There was an "interesting" (fantasy) fiction series called the Videssos cycle (author: Harry Turtledove), about a Roman legion - dunno if it's still in print. The first book was "The Misplaced Legion"; can't recall how accurate it was in terms of detail, but was quite enjoyable. The series got a bit LotR toward the end, though, and lots of mixed milieu - e.g. Romans meet Huns, etc.

you could create a regulation wargames (warhammer style) set in a universe with Roman and other civilizations of later periods, or even fantasy races.
Example: Romans, Normans, Crusaders, Spartans, goblins and orcs, elves, undead etc.

@Stuart...if memory serves me right its a Lokian(?) battle ship flying over. The Trigan Empire was a comic strip in Look and Learn magazine.

Movie rights for a feature film based on the strip were optioned in 2009. In December 2011 it was revealed that a script existed and that the film's producers were holding meetings in England to find a director.[2]

We certainly do have more Romans in the plan and we always will - everyone loves a Roman and we're no different.

I think at this point can be established that what you want are:
gladiators
Chariot (Biga/Triga or quadriga)
Legionnaires without loriga
and I also add a couple of emperors in two versions on horseback and on foot.
Hadrian and Trajan observation of own troops.
