Warhammer 40k in ww2 fomat

Postby Johnnie » Thu Feb 23, 2012 5:51 pm

Just wondered if they'r is a ruleset out there based on the warhammer 40000 rules in case of armybuilding, firing, movement and so on? In 28mm?
Personelly I'm no wargamer I'm just curious :D

I imagined something like this:

-HQ: SS-Hauptsturmführer Michael Wittman with tigertank, Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords
(+1 Attack, +1 Wounds, +2 Leadership for all squads within 20cm, Re-roll missed targets) 500pts

-Squad 1: NCO with Iron cross 2nd class( re-roll failed leadership test)and MP40 and 5 schutzen armed with K98(one with scope) with bayonet(+1 attack in close combat) and handgrenades and 1 MG42 team 230pts

-Heavy support: 2xNebelwerfer with spotter(Re-roll missed targets) 500pts
2xSchwere MG42 with binoculars(+1 range) 240pts

Just some thoughts I was playing around with ;)

King Tiger = Land Raider.
SS = And they shall know no fear.

IIRC, Flames of War started out as a free web download called warhammer ww2. I had that waaaay back in the day.
Take car. Go to Mum's. Kill Phil - "Sorry." - grab Liz, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. How's that for a slice of fried gold?

7ft indestructable supermen..... That's the SS in Fow, isn't it? Every second army is those murdering boys in the 12th SS.

That's pretty much it - still a fun game. I have a Canadian Para Coy - they eat SS for breakfast!

Warhamer Historicals The Great War (WWI) would be a jump off point. 100% based on 40K.

And I believe there is a 40K WWII variant done a yahoo group. No link sorry.

This is based on 3rd edition but I think they have files for newer editions too.Pretty active group.

My buds and I use Warhammer Great War modified(simplyfied actually) to play 28mm WW2.It's fast and easy two of us can do a game with 100-120 infantry, support weapons. and 8 or so tanks a side in 2-2.5 hrs.

That sounds really nice Fitterpete. Must be really cool to use so many 28mm infantry and still have a fast paced game. I will look into your linka little more. Thank you :)

warhammer 40k rules for WWII I've seen allot of different versions, but they all have 1 major problem...they are based off the warhammer 40k system...and that system is awful for any wargaming, even with 40k models, so its best to totally avoid them and go with something better
It has been made very clear by members and Paul I am not welcome on this forum because I don't bend over and agree with everything warlord does.

Unfortunately I don't care what any of you think...at all.
