The tinfoil is the base. It's to get round the problem of real fabric being square and the model's cape being sort of not. The foil is glued in place with a coat of miliput on, you can then tease the foil from the back into real wrinkles and folds. When it's set you putty the join and tidy up the rest. It's how Rob does his bardings and capes on the greens for production miniatures...

Carvel, I look forward to seeing progress when you have an new card reader, (I'm still borrowing my daughters camera...it didn't have a card reader but did have some leads!!)

P.A. and I.O.
Both of those ideas for how to do capes/cloaks are superb, I'll be nicking one or other!!!!
I think it would be a good idea to have them in the modelling section too for those that might not read this thread.

Tomato or garlic puree tubes in the UK guys. I've got a couple of tons of the stuff in storage in case anyone wants any.

I find kitchen scissors are the easiest way to chop off both ends, then open it out into a sheet so it's easy to wash under the tap.

hahahahaha....that Centurion has clearly been binge eating green stuff :lol: :lol: :lol:

can't see too much detail because of the small size pic....but it looks very impressive well done carvel and well done Clive for taking and posting picture.....can't wait to see the rest of this..............hopefully it will get mentioned in dispatches!!
