thanks every one for the kind words . love the period . when i first saw the battle report from inside the black powder main rule book i was hooked ! i wacthed zulu and zulu dawn countless times as built and painted . for my zulus i went army painter all the way and painted them in mass . as for the teddy bear fur roofs . they went well i just followed the directions and dipped them in pva glue with a little bit of water . applied them to the buildings and waited for them to dry . next day i watered down paint and painted them . waited for that to dry and began dry brushing up the high light . went pretty smoothly . great buildings . a pleasure to build . just got my copy of wargames illustrated 292 with more zulu stats and ideas for running my game . second week in march , is the plan . i've got my british helmet fresh from ebay to help me run the battle . ill post a full aar when it happens . thanks again guys and happy gaming

Say, where did you find a nice pith helmet - was it an affordable repro one or something rather more serious?

it was a cheap vietnam made repo . but you get the idea . found it on ebay for about $22 u.s. dollars . am i crazy because i like wearing period hats as i war game ?
