Having seen Mikelands Celtic huts and been shamed into activity (does that man ever sleep?) ...I spent a busy night rummaging through the airing cupboard for suitable towels... The Blue Pig band now have a sacred dwelling for their druid in the woods. I just need to send a raiding party to ... BURN IT TO THE GROUND!!!!
Excellent work Carvel, love The shaped door... Hope you don't mind if I asymalate that one (still got my chiefs hut to do).
Love all the fancy decor... Has Lauretrix Llewelyn-Bowatix been helping out? Though clearly the chap on the left spent all his disposable income on his house and had nothing left for clothes.
"Who died and made you xxxxxxx king of the zombies?"
That is ace, Carvel - it's nicer than our gaff, think I need you to come and work on it! The artwork is great, must be a high-ranker. How did you go on "plastering" the walls? The towel on the roof is great, and that's a great effect above the door. Must get some of that Tamiya red, though. @mikeland: Know how he feels (nearly)!
Great hut - how did you get the complex curves in the top?
Take car. Go to Mum's. Kill Phil - "Sorry." - grab Liz, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. How's that for a slice of fried gold?
@Grant...simple cone made then a bit of extra card stuck on at the edgeto provide a hump in the smooth surface of the cone...took a bit of cutting to get it right. The toweling was a simple circle with wedge cut out and it covered all perfectly. The beam is a kebab squewer with notches cut out of its top side so it could be 'persuaded' into a curve. Hope that helps. Many thanks all for the positive comments ...this forum has certainly lifted my game. Cheers! The plan is for a super big round house next but I need to find a cardboard tub big enough to form the base.
Terrific Carvel! Thanks for the tips. The complex curved roof really looks great!
