Brilliant book that one, the Great Siege of 1565. Sadly I didn't read it before going to Malta, but I read it after coming back and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Maltese people still seem to have a real siege mentality, a dignity and inherent stubborness I found hard not to first respect and then warm to. It's like they need to meet you a couple of times before they'll open up and decide you're not an enemy, and then once accepted you're one of the family!

Isn't that always the way - you go somewhere and then find all the great books after you get home.

Still, great excuse for a return trip ;)

Books were phenominally expensive on Malta. Something to do with duties on books coming in, but they were silly prices and I ended up buying an old Kipling paperback from a charity shop for £2! A lot of the nick-nack shops were selling tatty yellowed second hand paperbacks for more than you'd buy a new book in the UK. If we ever go back I'll have to take a load of old books and donate them.

There are some pics up on the WAMP site (I don't know where LOBO got them from) that I tried, unsuccessfully, to bring across yesterday.

http://www.wamp-forum.com/VB4/showthrea ... -Sergeants

Only sprue shots thus far, but they look great and I'm very excited about these. As I said on the WAMP site, I'm no expert but the Templars box looks to have enough options for you to cover 1st to 3rd Crusade and the Sergeants box for 2nd to 3rd Crusade.

Looking good. :)

I'll be interested in seeing how they scale up with other manufacturers as us historical gamers/collectors/modellers are a fickle bunch and don't like obtaining all our minis from just one source . :?:
