If you want very large units, true. But if not I think it's better to build the army slower, but with the best available.

I guess you want them for a longer time, not just a short run project and dump them? Imagin yourself in 10 years with them. Will you still like your choice?
In the long run the cheaper can be the more expensive. ;)

You have a good point there. I did get to look at both GWM and Renegade again and would agree that GWM's look better.
How is GWM's / Northstar's shipping? I hope not as long as Renegade's. And would either be at Historicon?

For what it's worth, I share this opinion because I find it more satisfying to have five models I really like rather than ten I can put up with. Right up there with going to an 'all you can eat' restaurant that serves up tons of muck instead of a plate of damn fine food.

But it's Lord Billy's call after all, since he's asking for help and advice for his own collection, not dictating how we should collect our own.

Right you are on that. After trying to make 25mm Airfix minis look good with a tedious paint job, better modelled miniatures are definitely worth the effort to get.

I had never any problems with the Northstar service.

Well I'm giving some GWM cavalry figs a whirl. I picked up some dismounted as well, that'll give the chaps an extra edge over the Boche. ;) Hope to be showing them soon. Thanks for all the friendly advice. Cheers

You know, while I'm at it-can anyone suggest a good read on British Cavalry Actions of 1914-15?
