Wagon Barricades from Jim's Place (Rorke's Drift)

Postby CptJake » Sun Feb 05, 2012 9:51 pm

I painted up the wagon barricades that came with my Horns of the Buffalo set. Really nice pieces. One of mine was either slightly miscast or broken before packing as the board across the back of the cargo area is mising, but it makes what should have been two identicle pieces a little different so no big deal.

Painted with cheap craft paints. I did the wagons a blue-grey color as that seems to be what the commissary service folks used, but obviously a crap ton of civilian wagons were contracted out for the invasion of Zululand so any appropriate wagon color would have worked. Shell casings are made from fishing line (100 test) because I ran out of plastic rod. I should have used a thinner line but that was what I had grabbed...

Anyway, fantastic pieces. Let me know what you think.

Jake

I have craft paints for covering larger terrain areas and they work well for those applications and besides that your barricades look fantastic. 8-)

Very nice.

But with all that spent cartidges I would like to suggest some traces of black powder smoke and perhaps some meal dust too. ;)

I use craft paints on figures too and am happy with the results.
