I'll probably watch some more tonight while painting.

As an aside, does anyone know who will be playing Spartacus in the new series - or even if there will be a new series?

Yes, there will be a third series but with a new actor because Andy Whitfield (Spartacus) died of cancer.I suggest you first see the prequel (god of sand) and then followed Spartacus (Blood and sand).Historical reality apart (more 'fantasy) is a good film, well acted and compelling (at least for me).
Sorry for my poor english.

It's unfortunate that Andy Whitfield passed away so young - cancer is not the nicest of ways to go.
I'll have a look for the Gods of the Arena - there's plenty of sales on at the moment so should find it relatively cheaply.

I'm getting ready to watch this as well.

There are several, on this side of the pond, who think it's nothing more than porn.

Sex scenes there are many but I think now is the trend. The series "Rome" and "The throne of swords" are full of scenes erotiche. Today's TV series are like that.

Watched the last episode of Blood and Sand last night - it was bloody brilliant! Not going to give away any spoilers but just going to say - watch out Rome!

Hopefully the copy of Gods of the Arena I ordered will arrive in the next day or two so I can start watching that one too.

Havn't got Sky - yet. My brother works for them and will hopefully let us know when a good deal comes up.

Until then, I guess I'll have to wait for the new series to come out on DVD.

I would have missed this had my father not reminded me as I've seen no trailers for it, so all hail the old man!
