That looks splendid! Love the richness of the colours you have achieved.

I would have sent that back and asked for a replacement as I don't have the patience or the skills to resculpt those bits.

I'm with you here. Accepting something like that does nothing for improving quality control.

I love the testudo...but have to say shocked at the casting quality on that..........well done on the sculpting...that would have been a "bridge too far for me"...I have filled holes in faces but sculpting a foot on a £25 model is asking a bit too much...i don't think even Games workshop would go that far.....i don't think they do Liquid Caligae

Very nice looking lot. In your opinion what's best, metal or plastic? M

Well, I prefer plastic, because is best for conversion and modelling. Today you can do with plastic the same things (or more) that you can do with metal, and is cheaper!

Hmmm, all things? If I have a look on the average plastic casted pike or flag pole it looks like a ship mast. So I would have to replace them with metal ones anyway.
Cutting metal heads, arms or legs for coversions was never a problem for me with the right tool. With the best glue you can fix metal as well as plastic and it dries faster.
And later battle damage? A broken bayonet or sword is no problem in metal too. And you don't need to keep all windows closed to prevent the single based army from flying from the table. ;) No fear that the temperature in a steaming hot summer car cause your Pikemen to wear bend arms.
