Re: What next?

Back on topic...

I would love for Warlord to re-look at the Roman/Celt cavalry sets with a view to creating plastic ones more like the pike and shotte cavalry. A sprue of generic plastic horses could be used for the roman cavalry and the Celt cavalry and chariots if designed carefully. Then plastic riders and chariots would just be another single sprue each. Plastic Celt chariots along the lines of the scorpion sprue would be brilliant. A Chariot, with a couple of crew that could be inter mixed with the existing Celt sprues would be really great.

Also is there any chance of the scorpion sprues being sold individually on the web store?

Second all of that - generic horses to use for Roman/Celt/Germanic/Dacian (etc) cavalry (and especially those chariots!!) would do very nicely! :D

Tricky though. Would an Italian cavalry horse be the same as a German forest pony? Or a Gallic cavalry horse the same as a British pony?

I think a lot of manufacturers let themselves down by not paying enough attention to the differences in mounts from one nation to another and one type of mounted unit to another.

But we must also distinguish between horses and chariots Romans. The roman chariot (Biga) are suitable x Roman triumphal parades and should not have horses galloping.Would be useful to use horses to step x Roman chariots and figures of characters.

Plastic Cavalry
Plastic Archers
Carvel's Legionary attacking with shield as weapon idea......Like "Rome HBO" In honour of Titus Pullo I guess...in metal.

CHARIOTS ;)

Don't care that they aren't historical.......since when has that stopped anyone? ;) if we used that as the criteria Centurions helmets would likely have to go as well as the Shields and their blazons...Onagers, I'm sure there is a bigger list...but i'm not counting!!!......If those with purely historical armies don't want to buy them that's fine but there should be a choice for all those who love the the theatrical and hollywood style armies....surely there is room for both?....and we could race them too.....You know it makes sense. ;)

How about a sprue of spare weapons for conversions? Something like 10 pila and 10 gladius (maybe half sheathed) on a sprue with the odd alternative helmet and pugio too.
I've got a few Legionaries armed with pila - but no gladius in thier sheath. Having the option to add one would be great. And the extra pila would look good piled up on the back of a cart, or scattered over dead Celts, or used for converting Auxilaries into Legionaries wearing lorica hamata.

We have all been begging for such sprues... For all the warlord ranges. But we mere mortals can but hope the Warlord deities will, one day grace us with such treasures.
