Actually it was designed to compete with Rapid Fire. ;) I don't know why because Rapid Fire doesn't have a very large following. :?

Battlefront don't see it as a competitior hence the reason there will be some army lists published for KGN appearing in Wargames Illustrated which of course is owned by Battlefront.

You might be surprised at how large a following Rapid Fire does have. Battlefront doesnt see it as a competitor because they are designed for different scales.

Also of course no Russians (unless they are fighting for the Germans!), Japanese or Italians in KGN.

I am not sure that KGN was designed to be a big thing in WW2 gaming - once again with WHH no miniatures range to go with it and minis is where the money is folks - more a labour of love.

Well things change.

I have playtest lists for all them... and more. But you are right, it was a very personal project for Warwick.

And yes... Rapid Fire has a big following.

Do they intend to publish all those extra lists?

I haven't picked up KGN, to be honest, in large part because I want a "complete" system - Russians, Pacific Theatre. Pacific has been the largest hole in Flames of War. Not sure why they haven't there yet.

But with so many different miniature ranges available is it worth the effort?

Well Rapid Fire around my parts doesn't have a big following . Case in point, my local store hasn't sold one copy since it opend which is nearly a year now. Our club at Bolton play KGN, CACK tend to play more Blitzkriege Commander and MAWS tend to play FOW.THese are all the clubs that are in the vicinity.

I do have a copy though and find it a pleasant read and have played it solo a few times.
