I have built several Warlord Celtic warrior boxes. I was very surprised today when I bought a box of Dacians and opened them up to find that they are the same figures as Celts. There are extra metal leader figs and bits such as heads, torsos, shields, and a few falx, but the core is 30 plastic Celts. The same shield transfers for the Celts are also in the Dacian box and there are no extra Dacian decals for the metal Dacian shields. I don't believe it would be possible to build a unit that looks like the pics on the box from the contents of the box. In fact, I know so because the picture on the box has Dacian decals and the box doesn't have any. Was this a glitch? Is it the same for the Germans? I feel a bit snookered.
Ahhh progress on the Germans, been waiting for this for a long time Will be another usefull addition to my DBA armies i have the Dacians and Celts and never got the Germans but with some good additions i may be tempted
Once you get them running, you can stay on top of them, and that way a small force can defeat a large one every time Stonewall Jackson

Or simply wait for the river to freeze over, poor across and sack Rome!

All the variations on the celts are based around the basic two Celt sprues. The Celt sprue was designed specifically so that they could be upgraded in this way.
I just wish that WG would sell the upgrade parts separately! I suppose they might see this as damaging the sales of the boxes but personally I would buy loads of the British headsto make a higher percentage of spiked hairdos in my warband. The celt plastic figures are pretty easy to covert and modify to make subtle variations on the poses.
