It's Friday! 25 November edition

Postby grant » Fri Nov 25, 2011 2:31 pm

Another Friday! I have to work this one, so it's 0-dark-30 and I'm getting ready for another exciting day at the office. Off at 1430 today, not bad.

Weekend plans:
1. Japanese. Found a terrific book in the clearance section of my bookstore on Axis uniforms and it has a terrific chapter on the Japanese! Inspirational and very informative.

2. More terrain projects. Not sure what I will get into but something will get painted from the terrain lot this weekend.

Fingers steady, paintbrush ready - its the weekend!

Today's plans are to survive the baby's endless energy combined with my bad back. Sadly the back was hurt taking the render off the garden wall and priming it with PVA & water (actually I've only done about a third of it, which is faintly terrifying) and I need to put the first coat of render on tomorrow with the second going on Sunday. My spine may actually fall off, especially since the rest needs doing before the winter frosts set in.

Not sure about tonight, will be having to pull a late one at the office, be here till 6, wont be home till 7 :( .

I have 4 Celts in need of highlights, detail and basing, then I might have a look at some ECW dragoons this evening other than that not sure I will get much hobby done

Mrs Mikeland is snowed under with ridiculous amounts of marking this weekend so I will be on looking after & entertaining the mini mikelands, as well as being on house work duty, that and I have two different Christmas Carol service programmes & invites to design.

My upcoming weekend sounds like Mr Cubster's, but without the bad back or l'enfant. Rather than prepping Celts, it's the chainsaw that's getting my attention this evening, as I've the stump of a large silver birch to get out. More playing with wood may follow, but, as I broke my sander last weekend, and haven't yet taken an Aged Parent to B&Q on a Wednesday yet, am praying for rain, as then I'll have to work indoors and that means more time to finish the reinforcements off (and then to finish off those bridge-building R... ).

Finishing off the bases on a couple of Baccus 6mm ACW cavalry brigades. Couple more infantry brigades to go after these are done and I can move on to the next project. Samurai!!!

And tonight it's Arkansas v LSU (American college football) on ESPN so the wargames stuff can take a break for a while. I'm not American, but I love college football :) My 6mm Louisiana Tigers even have a tiny Louisiana State University Tigers flag. Seems only fair since the team was named after Wheat's bunch of hooligans.
