No, IronIvan are based in the US and do conventions there. We did a game at Triples a couple of years ago based on the Hallamshires during Epson, it being a local regiment here in Sheffield. A friend also ran a game a few weeks ago for the Society of Twentieth Century Wargamers. I was supposed to help him, but a family crisis stopped me attending. Whether or not there was a write up in their Journal, I couldn't tell you. I'm not a member.

Yes, it's one of the best. Need to start building up a collection of good WW2 films. Most of the good ones seem to be American. The British ones are mostly ruined for me because of the plum accents. Do you know any good British ones without the silly accent or where they are in the minority?

I was looking for battle reports using the DH rules on youtube. Couldn't find anything. Will check and see if I can see anything about the Society of Twentieth Century Wargamers.

I have to agree with you about the films. I think that has more to do with Hollywood. They like to portray us Brits with that sort of accent and they also have a tendency to change history and don't have us doing the things in films that we did in life. However, there are still one or two old ones which are very good.

It's not just the American movies messing with history to suit themselves, it's also quite a lot of British films with the stupid posh accent. Even the "working class men" sound weird. It's very distracting.

Thanks for those links to battle reports. They help me to see how a game works and the pretty pictures of wonderfully painted models help too.

Fair comment, Grant and I would have no objection to it. That's because you would be fielding a representation of a specific unit. However, when only fielding a general army you would find that such a vehicle shouldn't be included in numbers. I used the Staghound as an example because the army book lists it as "Rare". Any vehicle listed as such shouldn't be fielded in large numbers because of their rarity. A specific unit being fielded would be an exception.

Oh, I get it; just thought, by strange coincidence, I just happened to know of not one, but two! units that used Staghounds in crazy numbers. So much so, that perhaps no one else could!
