I'll put a couple of pics on when I've had a mess with some greenstuff to change the helmet shape, but just to say that the falx straighten out really, really well. I've yet to tidy this chap up, but, using some flat pliers and a frame-heater at work to warm the mini (imagine a powerful, very hot hair-drier, but concentrated enough to soften plastics), they do seem to have come out OK:

They do look very good, and you have avoided, cutting or replacing any parts! Nice work!

Clive, Nice work so far I will be following this with interest........as i'm sure Carvel will be too!!!!
You might have been able to retain his curved sword...he might have got it from an international celtic/dacian arms dealer, I'd imagine it would have been quite a prize to have a sword like that on Britannia!...They used to trade, not sure if their swords made it over here though....i doubt any have been found....but a possible long shot! It looks fine straight though.
As for Hippos...I always take some stuff to do when i'm at mine

Thanks Mike, BD - but not really done owt yet! When I've had chance to play with the std bearer and carynx-blower, who both need an application of greenstuff to their barnet, I'll post some pics (or maybe not!! ). My Celts are the European cousins of your Brits (as I can't do Woad and haven't/didn't ask if Carvel would/could), so maybe the chief will look as though he's modelled his armour/shield on Decebalus' (these Gauls, always following the latest fashion ...). But I think I'll leave this chap with broadswords, just split/curl the long hilt/pommel to make them look more Celtic.
@BD: I could be at the kitchen table or in the garage; it can be pretty chilly in Cornwall at this time of year ... or anytime, for that matter ;)

The woad to Hell is paved with good intentions.
