US airborne jeeps

Postby macgarns » Sat Sep 24, 2011 5:58 pm

Hi all!
My first post here, I'm Fred, from France, Warlorg games addict, and "lead mountain" guide on my free time.
I would like to know if one of you could share a pic of these new jeeps with para on foot beside ?
As I've been a tad bit disapointed by the british para jeeps ( wich I've found too small, they look like midgett car besides my paras ), I'm cautious before ordering some.
Thanks for any intel.

Hi Fred

And here I am thinking it was just me  , I got myself some british crew from BAM USA and they are a bit too big for the warlord jeeps . But I don't have any comparison jeeps so I thought it was just me. Would like to know what they will fit in.
I do know that the crew from Warlord will fit in nicely.

Cheers Richard

Jeeps are, actually, very small. Last time I was in one my medic bag got a little crushed.

I remember getting a lift in one in Canada. I was terrified, because with me sat in the passenger seat, my leg was pressed up against the driver and I was hanging out the side with not nearly enough door to make me happy!

I remember the first time I got in one with the roof on and thinking how the hell do you get in?! Normally you just clamber in over the sides.
I've been in an original floorpan Kubel and that was a bit bigger. Certainly more room.

Hi all
many thanks for your kind replies.
I asked WG and the verdict is : same size as GB para jeeps
I have some Black tree design jeeps wich are more acurate size wise ( but need more detailing ).
I placed one para driver close to a standing one, the first looks like a dwarf, and placed the jeep close to a 1/72 plastic soldier, and it almost fit the bill.Sad because they are nice looking, but I guess I will have to e-bay it
Cheers

You do realise that Jeeps are actually about the same size as a Smart car, right?

Plenty of head room at least!

Not sure why but I think some people think Willys Jeeps were big bulky things. Ever since sitting in one as a young teenager and feeling cramped I've marvelled that fully grown soldiers in their kit would travel in them.

Our models are true 1/56 scale - if you want something out of scale with the models you should try to find something at 1/48 I guess.

For those of you who like your Jeeps the correct size you'll be pleased to know we have one of these for the US Army out next week...
Cheers,

Paul Sawyer
